Jurassic World: A New Beginning, A Complete Reboot with Scarlett Johansson!

1. The Return of a Phoenix-like Series

With tenacious vitality, the 'Jurassic World' series has returned to us once again. Like a phoenix that never truly vanishes from the screen, the story of these dinosaurs is back, this time heralding a completely new chapter under the title 'A New Beginning' with a new star, Scarlett Johansson.

2. The Difference Between First Shock and Familiarity

Do you remember when the original 'Jurassic Park' first appeared? The sight of giant dinosaurs overwhelming the screen and the fear of not knowing what might leap out next was truly shocking. The audience couldn't help but scream. This was also a hallmark of Steven Spielberg's early films. Just like 'Jaws,' it masterfully toyed with the audience's hearts through the fear of the unknown.

3. A Box Office Hit, But 'World' Left Something to be Desired

As time passed, 'Jurassic Park' expanded its universe into 'Jurassic World.' To be honest, the 'World' series didn't have the same intense pull as 'Park,' but it was a massive box office success, one after another. The fact that the series was produced without pause is the clearest proof of this.

4. Post-Success Criticism and a Full Cast Overhaul

However, the most recent installment faced immense criticism, regardless of its box office performance. Although it was five years ago, the producers seemed conscious of this feedback, making the bold decision to replace the entire main cast. It's a choice that certainly befits the subtitle, 'A New Beginning.'

5. A Continuing Universe, A New Stage

While the actors have all changed, the larger framework of the universe continues. An isolated island in the Atlantic, where dinosaurs have firmly established themselves, is now a restricted zone, off-limits to humanity. Although some harmless dinosaurs exist in modern society, this island near the equator is the only paradise where they can survive without human interference.

6. A Dangerous Mission for Humanity

The reason the protagonists head into this forbidden zone is for the sake of 'humanity.' The premise is that the secret to how giant creatures like dinosaurs can survive lies in their powerful hearts, and that by collecting and studying their blood, a breakthrough in treating human diseases could be achieved. Of course, since entry is officially forbidden, a secret infiltration mission unfolds.

7. Scarlett Johansson Returns as an 'Agent'

In this film, Scarlett Johansson once again appears as a formidable 'agent.' The casting seems to actively leverage the strong image she cemented as 'Black Widow' in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film operates on the premise that the audience is already familiar with the 'Jurassic World' universe, unfolding quickly like an adventure game without getting bogged down in explanations.

8. The Simple Virtue of a Blockbuster

As such, the film faithfully follows the blockbuster formula, focusing on thrill and action rather than a deep narrative or complex plot. While it provides a justification of 'for humanity' at the end, its core focus is the spectacle itself. Added to this is the story of a family that unexpectedly gets swept up in the events.

9. The 'Ordinary Family' in Charge of Tension

The film proceeds from the perspective of two main groups. One is the team of experts on a mission to approach the dinosaurs and collect their blood for humanity's sake. The other is an ordinary family that, after being shipwrecked and rescued nearby, is forced to join the mission. The presence of this family, which has no combat skills, serves the crucial role of maximizing suspense and tension, allowing the audience to empathize with their plight.

10. 133 Minutes Without a Dull Moment, and the Next Chapter

Despite a not-so-short runtime of 133 minutes, the film leaves no room for boredom. It heads straight to the island in question right from the start, after which a relentless parade of various dinosaurs appears to threaten the protagonists. From giant sea monsters to flying pterosaurs, the screen is filled with non-stop escape sequences. The clean finish, which sees the mission completed and the team escape, also hints that this phoenix-like series will, once again, continue.
